We did not replace our dryer when it broke last year. We now air dry our clothes year round. My husband and I have found it is very easy to keep up on laundry by simple using a couple clothes drying racks. If it is nice outside we do the laundry in the morning and the racks go out side. If it looks like it might rain or is too cold we simply wait until evening then hang the clothes on the racks in the living room under the ceiling fan right before bed. They are dry in the morning ready to be sorted.
We have easily saved $100 or more by just making this one change and it is great for the environment too.
